Art in the Park is presented by Kennebec Art Club during Bath’s Heritage Days celebration every summer around the July 4th holiday. Artists set up their own shelters and displays in Library Park in Bath, Maine.
It is a festival of artists from all over Maine, and the country who exhibit their original fine art. There is a modest entry fee and artists handle all of their own sales and keep all of their proceeds. Each artist is assigned a 12′ by 12′ space. Two artists may share a space for an small additional charge.
Cash awards are given for best in show and honorable mention. The show runs from 10 am to 5 pm the first day, and 10 am to 4 pm the second day. The show is held rain or shine. Artists are expected to remain open during the stated hours and are encouraged to plan for any sort of weather.
Proceeds from Art in the Park provide scholarships to three area high school seniors, enrolled in college art programs the following year.
